This type of diagnosis is one of the modern highly informative and non-invasive methods of diagnosis, which allows monitoring the state of the pelvic organs in women.
Today, two types of pelvic ultrasound are used:
- transabdominal - through the front abdominal wall;
- transvaginal - when the sensor is inserted into the vagina.
PREPARATION FOR ULTRASOUND OF PELVIC ORGANS
Transabdominal ultrasound is performed with a full bladder, so it is necessary to drink 1 liter of still water 1-2 hours before the start of the procedure.
Special training is not required for transvaginal ultrasound. In case the patient has problems with the gastrointestinal tract – perform a microenema the night before or take drugs that reduce gas formation in the intestines.
