Elastography in Lviv: preparation and progress
If you squeeze fabrics of different densities, they shrink differently. The time of their return to the ascending state is also different. Healthy muscle tissue quickly takes on its original appearance. As for fibrous nodes, they contract longer and return to their initial state longer.
The research technique itself is similar to ultrasound. There are two ways of fabric deformation:
- mechanical compression (the sensor makes vertical pressure on the tissue),
- acoustic tissue compression with an ultrasonic pulse.
Elastography – absolutely safe method that does not cause any side effects. Lasts no more than 10 minutes. Does not require special training.
