Price of vascular ultrasound at the NOVO Medical Center in Lviv
A child’s body is very sensitive to external factors and prone to many diseases. These include congenital anomalies, which a pediatrician cannot detect without the help of ultrasound diagnostics to prescribe effective treatment for a young patient. Ultrasound diagnostics is a method of checking a child’s health in real-time, requiring no forced immobilization. It allows doctors to monitor the normal development of a child’s body and detect the slightest abnormalities at early stages.
At the NOVO Medical Center, pediatricians recommend that parents have their child undergo the following ultrasound examinations in the first year of life:
- neurosonography;
- ultrasound of the hip joints;
- ultrasound of the abdominal organs;
- ultrasound of the urinary system organs;
- ultrasound of the thyroid gland.

This will allow timely detection of:
- anomalies and the condition of the brain, its structure;
- dysplasias and developmental disorders of the musculoskeletal system and symptoms of arthritis in children over one year old;
- presence of congenital defects of the digestive organs, assessing their position in the abdominal cavity;
- developmental pathologies of the urinary system, inflammatory changes;
- developmental anomalies and diffuse changes in the thyroid gland, presence of pathological nodes and lymph nodes.
Preparation for ultrasound diagnostics in children
1. Ultrasound of the abdominal organs is performed on an empty stomach, except for infants, for whom the examination is conducted three hours after feeding.
2. Before diagnosing the urinary system organs, it is necessary to drink non-carbonated water an hour before the examination to ensure a full bladder.
3. Neurosonography is performed through the anterior fontanelle - the site of physiological non-ossification of the skull bones. For children over one year old, neurosonography is not advisable, as the skull bones have fused, and ultrasound waves cannot pass through them.
The advantages of conducting comprehensive ultrasound examinations for a child at the NOVO Medical Center are:
- the opportunity to receive a consultation with a pediatrician, pediatric gastroenterologist, or pediatric orthopedist-traumatologist after the ultrasound;
- the ability to perform blood, urine, and stool tests if needed;
- conducting additional diagnostic methods: MRI or CT scans.
