Electrocardiography – it is an inexpensive, accessible and non-invasive examination that allows you to obtain important information about the state of the heart. It is used to diagnose most diseases of the cardiovascular system and to assess the functional state of the heart muscle and the regulation of heart activity.
The content of this method consists in registering the electrical activity of the heart and in its graphic display on a display or paper. It is carried out with the help of special devices - electrocardiographs of various types. During the examination, small electrodes are placed on the patient's chest, arms and legs, which record the electrical activity of the heart and are displayed in the resulting curve - an electrocardiogram (ECG). An electrocardiogram is performed in the same way in adults and children. Taking an ECG takes 5-10 minutes.
ECG is part of the diagnostic minimum for any medical examination and inpatient treatment at the Lviv Medical Clinic.
